Make sure that you're in an area with cellular network coverage. Then follow these steps:

Unlocked phones make it much easier to change your cellular service carrier while keeping the same phone. If you're thinking of having your phone unlocked by your carrier, keep in mind that purchasing an unlocked smartphone can be a much easier, and more reliable, option than attempting to unlock a previously locked phone. My cousin was using an R-SIM interposer to unlock it up to iOS 7.0.6 then the R-SIM broke and he updated to iOS 7.1.1 and since the update there is No Service. Check for a Carrier Settings update

To manually check for and install a carrier settings update:

3. To see the version of carrier settings on your device, tap Settings > General > About and look next to Carrier.

If you insert a new SIM card into your iPhone or iPad, you need to download the carrier settings for your new carrier.

• If the SIM card is damaged, or doesn't fit in the SIM tray, ask your carrier for a new SIM card.
